The Report is an analytical publication. Analogous reports for individual voivodships, in a similar layout and thematic scope, are published by all statistical offices in Poland.
The publication contains information relevant to the socio-economic development of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship on changes taking place in the environment, observed demographic processes, issues related to the labour market or education. The description of the inhabitants' living conditions and quality of life includes topics such as health care, social benefits, transport or public safety. Observed trends in selected areas of the economy, the activity of national economy entities, or issues including research and development and innovation activities are indicated. The publication covers topics related to the financing of activities from local government budgets, projects co-financed from European Union funds or spatial planning and revitalisation.
The information in the publication refers to the year 2023, or, if unavailable, to the year preceding the analysed year. To provide a broader picture of the changes taking place in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship, comparisons were made with the previous year and, where possible, with 2015. Selected statistical data were presented against the background of the country, in relation to other voivodships, and retrospectively for the years 2015-2023. Some issues were presented for the capital cities of the voivodship, i.e. Bydgoszcz and Toruń, as well as broken down by subregion, powiat and gmina.
The analytical commentary along with statistical tables were supplemented with graphical forms of presenting statistical data, i.e. cartograms, cartodiagrams and charts that illustrate spatial and temporal variability of phenomena.
