This publication contains a range of information relevant to the socio-economic development of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship. It covers the condition and protection of the environment, human capital (taking into account current demographic trends), and issues relating to the labour market and education. The description of living conditions and quality of life covers topics such as inhabitants’ wealth, health care, social benefits, transport and public safety. It highlights trends observed in selected areas of the economy, the activity of national economy entities, as well as issues relating to research and development and innovation. Topics related to the financing of activities from local government budgets, projects co-financed from European funds, and spatial planning are also presented.
The information relates to the year 2025; where such data are not available, it relates to the year preceding the year under review. To provide a broader picture of the changes taking place in the voivodship, comparisons have been made with the previous year and, where possible, with 2015. Selected statistical data are presented in comparison with the national average, as well as retrospectively for the years 2015–2025. Some issues are presented for voivodship capitals, i.e. Bydgoszcz and Toruń, as well as broken down by subregion, powiat and gmina.
The analytical commentary, together with the statistical tables, has been supplemented with graphical forms of statistical data presentation, namely choropleth maps, diagram maps and charts to illustrate the spatial and temporal variability of the phenomena.
The publication includes, in the form of an Annex, selected information on the Areas of Strategic Intervention (ASI), defined in the National Strategy for Regional Development 2030 as areas (gminas) threatened by permanent marginalisation and towns and cities losing socio-economic functions, for which there are special instruments of development support.
