This publication is an analytical study published by all statistical offices in Poland in a similar layout and thematic scope.
The publication contains important for the socio-economic development of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship information on changes in the environment, observed demographic processes, issues related to the labour market, education and the use of human capital. The description of the living conditions and quality of life of the inhabitants emphasises various topics such as health care, social benefits, transport or public safety. Current, observed trends in selected areas of the economy, the activity of national economy entities, or issues in the area of research and development and innovation are indicated. The publication covers topics related to the financing of activities from the budgets of local government units, with projects co-financed from European Union funds. For the first time, the subject of spatial planning and revitalisation is addressed.
The information contained in the publication refers to the year 2022, and in the case of unavailability – to the year preceding the analysed year. To provide a broader picture of changes taking place in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship, comparisons were made with the previous year and, where possible, with 2015. Selected statistical data were presented against the background of the country, in relation to other voivodships, and retrospectively for the years 2015–2022. Some issues were presented for the voivodship capital cities, i.e. Bydgoszcz and Toruń, as well as by subregion, powiat and gmina.
The analytical commentary along with statistical tables were supplemented with graphical forms of presenting statistical data, i.e. cartograms, cartodiagrams and charts that illustrate spatial and temporal variability of phenomena.
